Blood Orange Paloma
Paloma is the most popular cocktail in Mexico, even more so than margarita. Traditionally paloma is made with grapefruit juice and grapefruit soda. But it’s blood orange season in California so I decided to put a twist in the recipe - keeping grapefruit juice but subbing out to a blood orange soda. You could make it with all grapefruit or all blood orange, it's up to you.
It’s important to choose good quality tequila if you want to make a good paloma. My tequila of choice is usually reposado which is known for being extra smooth, making it just perfect for the blood orange paloma. This one in particular has notes of caramel, agave, sweet tropical fruit, vanilla and brown spices.
